[Almost immediately, Rations leaps up and clambers up Howard's back to try and get a better view of the 'mouse'. Howard yelps in pain as Rations' claws dig into his shoulders through even his thick jacket.] Ow, ow ow ow! Get off, get off, you psycho!

[He drops the Gear while trying to get Rations off him, and it lays on its side with a view of his ankles for a moment, until Rations hops down and stares at the screen. She blinks and chatters, eyes wide as she looks at Bossy, feathers on her haunches twitching as she decides whether or not to pounce.]
