Barbara awoke slowly like one does after a long, deep sleep. She stretched under the blanket she didn't remember putting over herself, and sat up. The makeup she had been wearing for the last day had smudged a little around her eyes. But she was rested, so it hardly mattered.
"Don't tell me that you've been sitting around this room all along," Barbara asked Howard, "that would have been awfully boring."
